Porcelain course - mould making

Learn how to make a mould from plaster and slipcast with porcelain clay. Design your own vase, mug or sculpure and create a small collection in porcelain. This course is suitable for both beginners, hobby potters and professional designers.

During this 8 week course you will create your own design, from idea to finished product. In the first 4 lesson we will mostly work with plaster, from sculpting your model (master) to making the casting mould. In lesson 5-7 we will be slipcasting with porcelain slip. You can work with both white clay and coloured slip and learn different techniques for decorating. You can make several pieces in porcelain. In the final class we will finish all pieces with glaze. After the final class everything will be fired in our professional kilns. Your porcelain items will be dishwasher proof!

The dimensions or your design cannot be bigger than 15x15x20cm, or have a maximum content of 4,5 liter. Due to limited time and space. The shape of your design will determine if it will be a simple or a more complex, multi-part mould. Everything you need to know will be explained and demonstrated during the course. No prior experience with ceramics or mould making is needed.
